The Rocky Mountain RYC is sanctioned tournament by the USA Fencing. The RYC events provide an opportunity to earn Youth 10/12/14 regional points in respective gender/weapon categories and it is a qualifying path for Summer Nationals 2020 based on fencer’s eligibility to fence in respective age category.

Medals will be awarded to the top 4 fencers in each event.
FORMAT All events will have one round of pools with 100% promoted to a direct elimination (DE) tableau. There is no fence-off for third place.

PLEASE NOTE THAT TIMES MIGHT CHANGE. As event size is hard to predict we use our best judgement to forecast event schedule. However, we reserve a right to change the schedule of specific event(s) within that day based on actual number of prepregistrations.

Armory will open at 7:30am each day of the competition. Armourers will check masks, gloves, head cords, body cords, manchette, and lames.
Full Armory Equipment Check is required for all competitors, with no exceptions. Fencers only need to have their equipment passed once for the duration of the RYC. For Y10 events, a 30” or 32” blade is required. For Y12 and Y14 events standard blade length of 30-35” is permitted. These rules will be strictly enforced.
UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS All USA Fencing uniform requirements apply. This includes the mandatory use of knickers, long socks, and underarm protectors. Conductive foil bibs are required. Elastic strap at the back of the mask is required. Names are NOT required to be on the uniform. 800N SABER GLOVES ARE MANDATORY FOR ALL USA FENCING SANCTIONED TOURNAMENTS STARTING OCTOBER 1st, 2015.
1) The rule in m.25.4 that chest protection for FOIL fencers must be covered by a soft material applies to ALL chest protection for foil fencers, regardless of style.
ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION: Fencers competing must be current competitive members of USA Fencing. Your USA Fencing membership card will be checked during check-in, so please make sure you have it with you. Temporary paper membership cards can be printed off from https://member.usfencing.org/ or you may present an electronic version**Those whose membership card does not indicate that their birth year has been verified by the USA Fencing will also have to show a birth certificate, passport or other government issued ID at registration. Copies of these documents are acceptable. **

Non age-eligible fencers could fence an event if they have national points in a previous age category.
The regular fee registration period ends at 11:59pm 2/12/2020.
The late registration period – 2/13/2020 to 11:59pm 2/20/2020.
All registrations made after 11:59pm on 2/20/2020 cannot be made online and will be considered walk-ins. Payment at the door for walk-in registration must be made in cash.
Regular Registration Fee: $35 Regular Fee per Event: $45
Late Registration Fee: $50 Late Event Fee per Event: $90.
Walk-in fees: Same as Late Fees at the door for walk-in registrations must be made in cash.
REFUNDS Registration fees and administration fees will not be refunded. Last day to request refund of event fees is February 12, 2020. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.
