Dear fencers and parents,
Welcome to Windy City SYC!! LATEST UPDATES:
For Friday morning events only a weapon check is available 8 pm-10 pm on Thursday, June 10th. It will be held in the lobby of the Berto Center. For those arriving in time do the equipment check on Thursday night, please try to do so to make things easier on Friday morning.
Parking is limited at the Berto Center. Please be respectful and DO NOT park in fire lanes or handicapped spaces. If the lot is full, you have several options. The Residence Inn parking lot next door, or the parking lot across the street from the Berto Center, in the Corporate 500 Parking Lot. Please take advantage of all parking options, and again, please do not use the fire lanes or handicapped spaces. The event on Friday begins at 8 am, but doors open at 7 am so fencers may check in and begin preparing for the competition.
-Entering the building: Please do no come to the venue earlier then 1 hour prior your event registration /check in time. You can only get in for a quick equipment check in case this is a non fencing for you day!
-Doors are opening 7 am every morning.
If possible use a small fencing bags, so we can have more room for social distance option around the venue.
-WE WILL NOT REQUIRE COVID TEST FOR THE EVENT!!
As Illinois is going towards fully opening on Friday, June 11 we will still allow only 1 parent per fencer at the venue. Please leave right after your fencing DE bout is over . We will allow more then 1 coach per club to get in, as long as the club has more then 4 fencers fencing at the same day session / 8 am, 12 noon,4 pm/
PARENTS SHOULD NOT COME CLOSER TO THE FENCING STRIPS ,AND SHOULD STAY AT THE DESIGNATED AREAS FOR SPECTATORS.
Medals and presents will be available for pick up for everyone in top 8 ,as follow: Medals 1st to 8th place .Tournament towels for the winner and the runner up! NO medals ceremony - just pick your medal !

In order to accommodate as many wait list fencers possible a small schedule change has been done as follow:
-CWF /Cadet Women Foil/ has been pushed back from 8 am on Friday to 12 noon on the same day June 11
-Y 14 MF / Men Foil/ has been pushed with 1 hour back on Sat from 12 noon to 1 pm on the same day June 12
Event registration deadline and wait list :
Regular fee registration will be open until May 23. Late entry deadline is May 24- June 1.
Refunds : Events fees may be refunded if requested before May 24. REGISTRATION fees are non refundable .
Wait list promotion and events capping: depending on registration activity ,some fencers registered at the wait list may promoted on May 19. Events with slow registration may lose some spots . Same spots will be given to the fencers at the wait list in the registration order.
COVID-19 Protocols will be implemented throughout the whole tournament. There will be no exceptions. IF YOU CAN'T COMPLY DO NOT REGISTER ;
If you are sick, stay home. If you present with a temperature or any other COVID-19 symptoms you must leave the venue immediately and there will be no refund.
Fencers are advised to wash their clothes each day before they come to tournaments.
Armorers have the full right to decline checking unwashed or uncleaned equipment.
Fencers must come to the venue semi-dressed (knickers, shoes, socks, etc). No change of clothes in restrooms is permitted.
Fencers may be accompanied by ONE person. ONE COACH PER CLUB ONLY WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE VENUE.
Everyone in the venue must wear a face mask that covers nose and mouth except when eating and/or drinking. There are no exceptions. If you are unable to wear a face mask stay home.
Face Shield is not a replacement to face mask.
There will be no public water stations, so you must bring your own.
No parents, coaches, or spectators will be allowed in the designated fencing area during the pool round. However, one coach is allowed to assist a fencer during DE bouts. Violators will be escorted out of the venue immediately.
Fencers are not allowed to touch the scoring machine, weights, shims, remote and scoresheet. Fencers must verify accuracy of the score sheet.
Results will be posted at www.fencingtimelive.com and any errors should be reported to the Bout Committee immediately.
Fencers are to refrain from shaking hands after bouts.
Fencers are to refrain from shouting or screaming after a touch.
When you have finished fencing in your event, gather your belongings quickly and exit the building immediately. You may not stay and socialize.
Awards Medals for top eight finalists in each event ,as well as a tournament 40/20 inches towel for top 2 fencers in each event!
