Welcome to the Mission SYC

This Event is a Qualifier for Summer Nationals

Check in:

1. Venue opens approximately 1.5 hours before close of registration. Please come approximately 1 hour before close of registration.

2. Registration and Armory MIGHT be conducted with a drive-thru format. More info will be sent to registrants before tournament.

3. Print or Download your USA fencing membership. Proof of current USA Fencing membership, current FIE license, or foreign federation membership must be presented.

4. Fencers to present proof of age: Original or copies of birth certificate, passport or driver's license, unless if the USA Fencing membership card has "Birth year is Verified " is noted on the card.

5. For a better ATHLETE experience, only competitors and coaches (active coach's membership required) will be allowed on the competition floor. Plenty of seating is available for spectators also Better viewing is from the streaming. Link

6. There are shelves for bags and bag storage under the gallery in the hallway. There are also bag racks throughout the venue. Bags must be put in the racks zipped up vertically. Any bags on the floor will be removed.

Tournament

Medals are engraved with names. This is done quite quickly usually within minutes of end of final bout. We ask that you remain for the quick ceremony to show respect to the tournament and your fellow competitors.
Strip GM1 is the Gold Medal strip closest to the entry way. Strip GM2 is the farthest Gold Medal Strip. Both Gold Medal strips have full Replay and will be used for Semi and Final bouts.

Ice can be found at the training room next to bout committee.

Food & Drink

The venue has a full café with ample, reasonably priced food, drinks, and fresh fruit.

Delicious CAPPUCCINO's and ESPRESSO's are available.

Sponsor McDonalds can be located on 25A on the way to the Venue. Located in the shopping plaza is a Subway restaurant, Italian/Pizza restaurant, Chinese restaurant, and a Bagel Store/Deli. There are numerous restaurants in the immediate surrounding area as well.

Covid-19 Subject to change at anytime

Self-monitor and be symptom-free for at least 5 days prior to tournament. Stay home if you have had close sustained contact in last 5 days with anyone who known or believed to have COVID-19. Stay home if you are sick or do not feel well.
Due to Covide HVAC upgrade to bring in fresh air and CDC approved filters installed.
Installed streaming cameras to allow great views of strips so spectators being inside the venue is not a necessity.

Event Fee Info

Registration and Event Fees

The regular fee registration period ends at 11:59pm PST on 4/4/23 . All registrations made after 11:59pm PST on 4/4/23 to 11:59pm PST on 4/24/23 will be at the triple fee period.

Regular Period Registration fee: $45 registration fee plus $55 per event, plus USA Fencing administration fee

Walk-In Period Registration fee: $135 registration fee plus $165 per event, plus USA Fencing administration fee ending on 4/24/22

Refund Policy

Registration fees and Administration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE

Refund requests must be received by 4/4/23

Refund of events fees can be requested by sending email to jeff@missionfencing.com

Refunds are processed a few days after the refund request is received and will be processed by USA Fencing National Office. NO REFUND will be issued to No Show or Withdraw from events

Transportation Details

Estimated Travel Times:

25 minutes from Islip MacArthur Airport 15 minutes from Port Jefferson Ferry 15 minutes from the Port Jefferson Train Station. 1 hour 15 minutes driving from JFK and LGA Airports, you can take LIRR train from JFK to Port Jefferson Train Station from Jamaica Station. Airtrain takes you there from terminals.

Venue Information:

Mission Fencing Center is located at 346 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY 11778. They can be contacted at 631-821-1131 for directions or assistance.

Mission is in the same shopping center as Kohl's, Michael's, and PETCO. It is across the street from Planet Fitness. If in-putting the address into a GPS, you can search for the Rocky Point Post Office which is also located in our shopping center.

Ample parking can be found around the back of the shopping center, near the main entrance to Mission.
