Apex Challenge RYC - Foil & Epee

Welcome to the Apex Challenge RYC

All events are capped. Registration is limited for each event.

Age Eligibility

• Y10 = 2013-2016
• Y12 = 2011-2014 (or on Y10 NRPS)
• Y14 = 2009-2012 (or on Y12 NRPS)

Tournament Schedule

• All times are Close of Check-in
• Start time of events are subject to change to maintain load balancing. We will notify fencers if there will be any change in start times
• The tournament daily schedule and individual event capping are SUBJECT TO CHANGE based upon entry registrations such that the organizer is able to maintain a reasonable number of attendees throughout the day for health & safety measures, strip usage and proper staffing.
• Entry is on a first-come first-served basis - NO EXCEPTIONS. Once the tournament has filled to the capped amount, a wait list will begin. When an athlete withdraws from the event the next person on the wait list will then have 24 hours to officially register for the event and pay event fees.
• Walk-in registration, event entry and participation will be permitted with triple fees, if there are open slots in the event and approval is granted by the Bout Committee

Armory check

• Equipment check: required (mask, lame (as appropriate), mask cords, glove and body cords).
• Armorers have the full right to decline checking unwashed or equipment that is not clean.

Check-In

1. Venue opens 7:00AM each day. We recommend to arrive at least 1 hour before close of check-in.
2. Proof of current USA Fencing membership, current FIE license, or foreign federation membership must be presented. If fencer is not a member yet, or membership expired, fencer has to complete and pay for USA Fencing membership at the door.
3. Foreign fencers must obtain a "Foreign Fencer" USA Fencing membership (free of charge). This should be done before arriving to the event to expedite check-in. To be a member in USA Fencing click here
4. Fencers must present proof of age: Original or copies of birth certificate or passport, unless if USA Fencing membership card has "Birth year is Verified " is noted on the card.
5. Fencers must check in for each event in which they compete.

Tournament Format

• USA Fencing rules apply. USA Fencing rule book
• Name is NOT required on uniform.
• Blades: The maximum blade length permitted for Y10 competitions is 32 inches (Size 0, and 2)
• 100% advance to DE after pool results.
• Events may be mixed gender if less than 6 fencers of either gender within the same age group.

• Medals for top eight finalists in each event
